Intel’s Mobile Metro Notebook Unveiled

It seems that Intel has been inspired by Motorola’s RAZR mobile phones. They have unveiled the mobile Metro notebook, which is less than 0.7 inches thick. And complementing the thickness is the weight, as the Metro just weighs 2.25 pounds.

Mobile Metro Notebook (that’s the codename) debuted at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing in April. The thin notebook has been designed by Intel for making it easier to use everywhere. That’s why it also features an always-on Internet connectivity via a variety of wireless technologies like WiFi and EV-DO.

The Mobile Metro laptop was developed in conjunction with Ziba Design. Other features include a flash-based memory hard drive, champagne-toned magnesium chassis and a fourteen hour battery life. Intel had to bring out something like this as their competitors Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is taking a huge chunk from their market share.

Intel has not released any details regarding the launch date or the price details. Anyway, whatever price tag they put on the thin Mobile Metro Notebook, they will be making fat profits. It is being speculated that Intel’s Mobile Metro Notebook could release this year itself.
