The recently launched device cuts a sleek picture dressed in striking shades of orange and gray. It claims to be complete with all the necessary software and hardware materials required for business related processes of backup or file sharing. The LaCie server rack is incorporated with I/O ports that enable connection with external storage and allow it to integrate as a JBOD array for large scalability of up to 144TB.
The 12big Rack Storage Server is powered by the Intel Quad Core Xeon processor and comes equipped with 4GB of RAM. It touts to be durable enough for executing numerous parallel tasks at the same time as well as the ability to accommodate up to 250 users. This new device is equipped with five free PCIe slots for supporting dedicated applications such as 10GB Ethernet, fibre channel and InfiniBand.
This network storage solution can be configured as an iSCSI target or initiator so that expansion of storage can be made possible in a cost-efficient manner. It features hardware RAID controller which lends support to RAID Levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 or 60.
