The Synology DiskStation DS212j NAS server, the latest addition to the company’s j series is a versatile 2-bay server which promises not to burn a hole in users’ pockets. The server is said to offer rich multimedia experience and works seamlessly with Apple as well as Android mobile devices.
The newly designed exterior of the server not only offers superior functionalities, but also adds to its aesthetic appeal. In order to maintain airflow and cut down on the noise level to as low as 18dB, the system is integrated with a 92mm rear fan along with two side ventilation openings. The energy-efficient server consumes 17.6 watts power under full operation and reduces consumption by 45 percent when hard drives are in hibernation mode.

The DiskStation DS212j NAS server is fueled by a 1.2GHz processor in addition to 256MB and operates with the DiskStation Manager 3.2 (DSM 3.2), deployed in most DiskStation servers. Boasting of an intuitive and multitasking web-based user interface, the device comes with a Gigabit LAN output and two USB ports to facilitate connections.
The affordable Synology DiskStation DS212j NAS server is up for grabs at a price of $219.99 (approx. Rs. 11,040). It is now shipping through resellers and e-retailers including Amazon, Newegg, PCMall and more.
