Sony SmartWatch and Smart Wireless Headset pro for Android smartphones revealed

Sony SmartWatch

Apart from the debut of the new Xperia NXT range of handsets, the CES 2012 also saw some fresh accessories like the Sony SmartWatch and Smart Wireless Headset pro. Both these devices are compatible with most Android smartphones currently available in market.

The Sony SmartWatch is a 1.3-inch OLED touch sensitive micro display which easily syncs and communicates with the users’ handset using Bluetooth technology, enabling owners to wirelessly operate various phone functions. The small screen is capable of accepting or rejecting calls, reading text messages, use applications, and more.

The design incorporated by the display allows it to be integrated with a watch strap which users can wear on their wrists. Although the display ships with a black watchband as well as a watchband adapter, it can be worn with any 20mm wristband that reflects the persona of the owner. Otherwise, it can also be attached as a clip. It uses Bluetooth 3.0 interface and is capable of functioning within a range of 10m.

Another recent release by Sony in the peripheral section is the Smart Wireless Headset pro. Seemingly a step ahead of other Bluetooth headsets, this one is embedded with an SD card reader. The gadget also performs the functions of a MP3 player, a remote to display phone applications, and an FM radio. According to the official Sony Ericsson product blog, it also reads out incoming messages by converting text to speech.

The Sony SmartWatch and Smart Wireless Headset pro release date and price details are still under wraps.
