Doxie Go mobile paper scanner unleashed

Apparent Doxie Go Mobile Paper Scanner

Apparent recently announced its new mobile paper scanner called Doxie Go for busy professionals on the go. The compact wireless device does not need a PC to operate and lets users scan document just about anywhere without too much trouble. The mobile scanner organizes multi-page documents, creates searchable PDFs with ABBYY OCR, and sends them to Evernote, Dropbox and the cloud. Users can scan papers, photos, bills, reports, recipes, cards and receipts and connect the gadget via USB to sync scans, like a digital camera.

Users are apparently allowed to scan full color pages within eight seconds via Doxie which recharges its battery while connected. Possessing a USB as well as a microSD card slot, the device is capable of scanning up to 600 pages. It syncs directly to the iPhone and iPad and works directly with Evernote, Dropbox, Flickr, CloudApp and Google Docs. The scanner is accompanied by Doxie 2.0 software, a sync/charge cable and a free carrying case.

Offering a resolution of up to 600dpi, Doxie also saves multi-page PDF, JPEG and lossless PNG files to the desktop. The in-built OCR makes the PDFs easy to find. Users can select document and photos for sending them to applications including Evernote, Acrobat, iPhoto and Photoshop on their computer with a mere click. It features an automatic image recognition system which ensures delivery of crisp and clean copies of the scanned paper. Other features include automatic cropping, rotation and contrast boost.

The Apparent Doxie Go mobile paper scanner is now available for pre-order online at getdoxie.com. Priced at $199 (approx. Rs. 9,831), it is scheduled to commence shipping from late November.
