New iPod touch, iPod nano, refreshed iPod shuffle share the spotlight with iPhone 5

New iPod Touch devices

The iPhone 5 event could just bring along a host of new surprises like refreshed versions of the iPod shuffle, the iPod nano and the iPod touch. They are all rumored to share the lime light and the media attention on September 12.

First on the roll we have an updated iPod shuffle that’s said to sport some minor changes in comparison to the earlier version. As of now, there is no certainty about the amount of hoarding capacity users will have for storing content, but the upcoming device is rumored to be available in a total of 8 shades. The guys over at 9to5Mac point out that the gadget will debut next week along with the iPod nano, at a street price of $49.

Speaking of the nano, potential buyers might get to see a taller version with Wi-Fi connectivity. Its cost could be pushed further up the price line as the music player is likely to sport a heavier configuration. There are guesses that it could feature a whole new codename which hints at a few structural and internal changes. Minor alterations are expected, but there’s no official confirmation on the device’s technical specifications as yet.

Latest Generation Apple iPods

Next up is the iPod touch that will be available in an entry-level option and two high priced versions. The former will apparently retain the fourth generation form factor, while the latter devices might sport a new look altogether. Also, the refreshed entry-level player is speculated to arrive with a smaller dock connector and iOS 6 on-board. The cost of these new gadgets is supposedly marked at $299 and $399. They should be available for the first time in a host of fresh color options.

Apart from the above mentioned price details, the upcoming iPod touch, iPod nano and updated iPod shuffle are expected to hit stores in less than a week’s time.
