LG LN790 Portable Navigator System Introduced

LG LN790 GPS unit LG has announced the availability of its latest GPS navigator, LN790. The GPS unit comes equipped with all the North American maps and live traffic from 50 US cities.

The specs of the LN790 include a 4.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth phone pairing, video and music playback and photo viewing. It also provides built-in 2GB flash memory with a SD card slot and supports FM TMC and audio streaming.

The LG GPS device also offers text-to-speech, millions of POI, steering wheel remote. Furthermore, it delivers battery life up to 4 hours.

The LG LN790 GPS navigator system will be available in September costing around $699 (approx. Rs.28,000) in US.

GPS manufacturers seem to be skeptical of coming to India. However, Indians really require GPS systems in their car to avoid accidents. We do experience lot of traffic and unpredictable calamities unfortunately.

    GPS systems to avoid accidents? I am not sure how GPS would prevent accidents.

    GPS in cars is useful for navigation and finding destinations in unknown area. It is definitely useful for India, but no way it is going to reduce accidents.
