Avaya Dual-Mode solution provides officials to manage their communication conveniently and also gives organizations a more cost-effective way to manage enterprise mobility.

This is how the Avaya Dual-Mode solution works: When an official is working inside the office premises, the solution uses company’s communications system and a secure Wi-Fi network. While stepping out of Wi-Fi network, the user can switch to the original cellular network by pressing a button, without even interrupting the conversation.

This new Dual-Mode solution also offers other features such as conferencing, transfer and extension dialing.

Explaining the new solution, Geoffrey Baird, vice president and general manager, appliances, mobile and small systems division, Avaya, said, “This unifies a business’ voice applications, devices and networks to simplify communications for enterprise users wherever they go. Greater productivity and savings are just the beginning of the benefits gained with dual mode mobility.”

Tom Furlong, vice president, security, mobile connectivity, Nokia said, “Bringing the functionality of the IP PBX to mobile devices over cellular and Wi-Fi to employees both inside and outside the office is one of the ways mobility is transforming the way business is done.”

Installation of application requires Avaya Communication Manager software, Avaya SIP Enablement Services (SES) and an Avaya Extension to Cellular dual mode license. The Dual-Mode software can be downloaded from Avaya’s website and can be installed on Nokia E-series phones wirelessly or through a PC cable.
