After making its debut at the E3, the Nintendo Wii U price and release date details have finally shown up. And with the device’s GamePad controller, the manufacturer claims to not only offer improved gameplay, but also enhance the way in which users find and view TV and video content.
The company has planned to launch the gaming system in two different colors and configurations. The Basic Set will be available in white with 8GB of internal storage, a GamePad controller, AC adapters, an HDMI cable and a sensor bar. The Nintendo Wii U Deluxe Set will be up for grabs in black and will pack in all the aforementioned components in addition to a higher storage capacity of 32GB, a console stand and a GamePad charging cradle. It also includes a copy of the Nintendo Land title.
“The wait is almost over — in just 66 days, Wii U will arrive with the strongest lineup of launch software in Nintendo history,” remarked Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “With the integrated second screen of the included GamePad and features that instantly enhance the way people play games, watch video and interact with each other, consumers will see how Wii U delivers a completely unique experience and a remarkable value right out of the box. The new system also creates extraordinary new possibilities for game developers, bound only by the limits of their imaginations.”
Both consoles support Miiverse in addition to the all-new Nintendo TVii application. With the help of the GamePad controller’s 6.2-inch touchscreen, users will be able to access Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video and YouTube. Activision will be bringing in a horde of titles for both configurations including Call of Duty Black Ops II, Transformers Prime, and Skylanders Giants as well as other third-party games like ZombiU and Assassin’s Creed.
As mentioned above, the Nintendo Wii U price amounts to of $299.99 (approx. Rs. 16,415) for the Basic Set and $349.99 (approx. Rs. 19,150) for the Deluxe Set. Its release date for the US is scheduled for November 18.
