Eco-friendly Sceptre 40 Series LCD HDTV now available

The Sceptre 40 Series LCD HDTV introduced by the company, not only offers a large viewing angle of 38.5 inches, but also promises to conserve energy through its environment friendly features. It can now be purchased via authorized retailers across the U.S.

The television is compliant with Energy Star v5.3 and the company claims to follow the proper guidelines while manufacturing, which ensure generation of lesser environmental waste. Also, it is noted that the device reduces power consumption and brings down the annual energy consumption cost to about $14. Featuring Auto Dynamic Contrast Enhancement, this display offers a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the contrast ratio is said to be 5,000:1. With a frame rate of 60Hz and response time of 8.5ms, it is capable of rendering visuals in 1920 x 1080p resolutions.

The HDTV flaunts a 38.5-inch screen and is integrated with tuners like ATSC, NTSC and Clear QAM. It extends compatibility to signals of 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i resolutions and the HDMI input standards supported by this LCD TV include 1080/24p, 1080/60p, 1080i, 720p and 480p. It is embedded with a USB port and 3 HDMI connectors to facilitate multiple connections. Weighing approximately 26lbs with the stand, the LCD backlight of the television set apparently lasts for around 50,000 hours. This wall mountable display unit also boasts of automatic MPEG noise reduction and surround sound with equalizers.

The Sceptre 40 Series LCD HDTV (X409BV-FHD) price and availability details have been revealed already. It can be purchased from Target, Amazon, Wal-Mart, NewEgg, K-Mart and Sears for $399.99 (approx. Rs. 20,450).
