Merely a month after releasing the Asus VS247H, the company has bounced back to India with the Asus VS197D LED monitor. The 18.5-inch display, said to be apt for work and entertainment, boasts of cramming in technologies like SmartView and Video Intelligence.
The LED monitor renders visuals in 1366 x 768p resolution while offering response time and maximum brightness of 5 milliseconds and 250cd/m2, respectively. The Smart Contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1 adjusts the luminance of the backlight and claims to produce lifelike images. The Video Intelligence technology enhances the color, brightness, contrast and sharpness of the projected images.
A dedicated hotkey allows users to access the 6 preset modes namely – scenery, night view, theater, game, standard and sRGB. The monitor’s net weight is estimated at 2.75 kilograms and its physical dimensions along with the stand are 447 x 346 x 185 millimeters. Though slim, it is sturdy as well as durable for use over a long period of time, says the company.
Furthermore, the SmartView technology deployed in the monitor adjusts the color parameters that should ensure consistent image quality from all angles. Its Aspect Control feature provides an option between full and 4:3 display modes for an improved video quality sans distortion. Additionally, the mercury-free LED backlit panel is compliant with VESA standard and can be mounted on the wall or a stand.
Backed by a three-year onsite warranty, 18.5-inch Asus VS197D LED price is Rs. 5,000, excluding taxes. It is packaged along with a VGA cable, power cord and a quick start guide. The display’s availability details have not been mentioned.
