Not long ago, the LG 55-inch OLED TV panel was unveiled, and the latest developments have revealed that the manufacturer has successfully built the LG 55-inch OLED TV for this panel. The flagship display from the company will make its first appearance at the CES, this month. LG’s 84-inch 3D UD TV boasting of 3840 x 2160p resolution, will also be present at this show.

The newest arrival of the company claims to be a blend of aesthetics as well as technological advancements. The extremely sleek TV with a thickness of about 4mm, employs the Slim and Narrow Bezel design that tips the scale at 7.5kg. With the aid of its ‘infinite contrast ratio’, this TV projects clear images with vibrant colors, while keeping a check on the sharpness even in scenes with dark lighting.

“Working closely with LG Display, we have a product which not only delivers on all the advantages of OLED over LCD but at a significantly lower cost than what could be achieved using existing OLED manufacturing technologies. OLED is clearly the future of home TV entertainment and LG is very focused on making this exciting technology as easy as possible for consumers to embrace,” stated Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

Moreover, the ‘world’s largest’ LG 55-inch OLED TV cuts back on blurring effects as experienced in some LED and LCD displays. The 4-Color Pixels utilized in it, combines with the Color Refiner to produce accurate colors. This precision is achieved by means of a set of four colors namely – red, green, blue and white as opposed to the RGB setup deployed in most other OLED TVs. Its Refiner eliminates the abnormal color gamut to offer consistency of hues and tones from all viewing angles.

The LG 55-inch OLED TV will be showcased at CES but there is no word on its availability details.
