The Sony Reader Wi-Fi which was first seen a month ago is now available for pre-order at the online store of the company. The news about this 6-inch Android powered Wi-Fi has been doing rounds for months now.

Flaunting itself as the only Wi-Fi enabled reader from Sony, this sleek and stylish looking device is designed with glare-free Pearl E-Ink V220 touchscreen which allows users to read even under the bright sun. The display also accommodates multi-touch activity, letting readers pinch or zoom the screen. Splashed in vibrant shades like black, white and red, the gadget sports a 3.5mm headphone input as well.

The 168g reader is incorporated with user memory of 2GB while the external microSD card slot enables expansion up to 32GB. The company also claims a battery life of approximately over a month or better explained as over 14, 000 continuous page turns for the device, thus reducing the need of recharging it frequently. Along with the reader, complementing accessories provided by the company include a stylus pen and a USB cable. With over two million publications readily available, readers are also allowed to access books from online public libraries and even borrow them. It also has over 12 pre-loaded dictionaries.

The Sony reader Wi-Fi is now available for pre-order at the Sony online store for a price of $149.99 (approx Rs. 7, 457). It is expected to start shipping around October 16.
