Besides trying to make a mark with some spanking features, the LG DX2500 glasses-free 3D monitor claims to take the 3D entertainment medium to a whole new level. While the display is already out in Korea, it is expected to be available in several markets across the world by the first quarter of next year.

While watching content on 3D displays, especially the glasses-free type, users normally have to seat themselves within a specific distance from the screen. Also, they cannot move beyond a particular angle since that could take away the 3D fun. The DX2500 promises to eliminate this by introducing glasses-free parallax barrier 3D technology. This enables viewers to move around while watching a movie or a video, without having to worry about missing out on the 3D aspect.

“LG is taking glasses-free 3D monitors mainstream with the DX2500,” believes Si-hwan Park, Vice President of the Monitor Division at LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “With the DX2500, we are making the LG brand synonymous with glasses-free 3D monitors. In 2012, we’ll continue to expand our range of glasses-free 3D monitors featuring different designs and advanced functions.”

The DX2500 is developed with a position tracking system, which works by means of an embedded camera. The snapper senses head positions as well as eye movements. On the basis of this data, it adjusts pictures to deliver optimum image quality to all members of the audience. Like most other products of this ilk, this monitor is also capable of converting 2D content like photos, videos, movies, and even games into 3D with a single click of the mouse.

The LG DX2500 glasses-free 3D monitor price details have not been revealed by the company.
