Apple iPad now lands on AT&T store shelves

The tablet segment already seems to be dazzled with the iPad. Tapping more users worldwide, AT&T and Apple have teamed to announce that all three iPad Wi-Fi + 3G models will now be available through the network provider.

AT&T users will be offered with multiple 3G prepaid data plans for the iPad which will help them access the Internet according to their convenience. Available without a term contract, these plans will subsume unlimited access to more than 23,000 domestic Wi-Fi hot spots of the carrier. Owners can interact and with their apps and content in an intuitive manner, thus enlivening their experience.

Glenn Lurie, AT&T President of Emerging Devices, Resale and Partnerships, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, shared, “We can’t wait to showcase the amazing features of iPad Wi-Fi + 3G in our stores across the country just in time for the holidays. With our breakthrough iPad data plans starting at just $14.99 and access to AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots around the country at no extra cost, our customers will have the best of both worlds.”

The Apple iPad allows users to seamlessly browse the Web, read or send email, watch HD videos, listen to their favorite tunes, and more. Sharing content with a simple multi-touch user interface is also possible with the offering. The iPad’s Wi-Fi and 3G models measure just 0.5 inches thick and tip the scale at a mere 1.6 pounds. Further, the devices proffers up to 10 hours of battery life for browsing the Web on Wi-Fi as well as watching videos and listening to music plus up to 9 hours of surfing the web using a 3G data network.

All iPad Wi-Fi + 3G variants are anticipated to be available beginning October 28 through AT&T stores across the U.S. The models are priced at $629 (approx Rs. 27,767) for 16GB, $729 (approx Rs. 32,181) for 32GB and $829 (approx Rs. 36,596) for 64GB capacities. Moreover, domestic data plans for the iPad costs $14.99 (approx Rs. 661) per month for 250MB and $25 (approx Rs. 1,103) per month for 2GB with no term contract.
