Apple strikes 3 Million sales mark in 80 days

Apple’s roller coaster ride with the iPad has probably reached one of its high points. After a lukewarm start, it took the device 28 days to hit the 1 million mark and 60 days for the 2 million cross over. Now, 80 days after its launch the iPad has been delivered to its 3 millionth owner. Apple declared to have sold three million units of the device. Plugging the space between smartphones and laptops, it offers entertainment and communication on-the-go.

Weighing approximately 1.5 pounds, this case of advanced digital technology allows users to surf the internet, read their favorite ebooks, play music, view and share photos, watch HD videos and more with just a few clicks. Its Multi-Touch user interface simplifies usage and also adds to the entertainment.

“People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,” says Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”
