Following the successful launch of the iRiver E200 PMP, MobileRead Forums reveals the news and images of the company’s new Story eBook reader, reports Techfresh. iRiver has been in news for its plans to launch the new reader in the Japanese market. But now it looks like the company is planning to launch the reader outside Japan.
The iRiver Story eBook reader is a 6-inch E ink display. The reader also features a full QWERTY keypad that replaces the blank user interface. The memory card slot is capable of supporting up to 32GB cards. The reader also offers compatibility with various file formats like PDF, epub, txt, ppt, doc, xls and more. It doesn’t need to convert these formats to support them.
This iRiver reader was first glimpsed back in July. The full specifications of this device are yet to be disclosed. Apparently, the reader is also said to include a comic reader and a battery that lasts up to 9000 page turns.
Reportedly, iRiver plans to give the Story eBook reader an official introduction on September 16. It is expected to retail priced at around $300 (approx. Rs. 14,632).
