Sony XEL-1 OLED, a 3mm thin and 11-inches TV Now Available in US

Sony XEL-1 OLED TV After the introduction of the industry’s first OLED TV, Sony has finally released the XEL-1 in America. Around 3 mm thin, this television measures 22-inches diagonally.

This latest model provides extremely high picture quality with superior contrast, outstanding brightness, exceptional color reproduction and a rapid response time with ‘unmatched performance’. It features two HDMI inputs and a Memory Stick slot, enabling viewing high-resolution photos.

“The launch of an OLED TV is one of the most important industry landmarks,” expressed Randy Waynick, senior vice president of Sony Electronics’ Home Products Division. “Not only does the technology change the form factor of television, it delivers flawless picture quality that will soon become the standard against which all TVs are measured.”

It has the ability to prevent light emission when reproducing shades of black and ensures about 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It eliminates the backlight usage to control all phases of light emission from zero to peak brightness. Furthermore, exceptional color expression and energy-saver are also available without wasting too much power.

The company also incorporates ‘Super Top Emission’ technology that includes a wide aperture ratio producing high brightness and efficiency to deliver an accurate picture. The device also bundles color filter and micro cavity structure that reproduces natural colors, even in darker scenes. It can also recreate the colors that were originally intended.

Sony’s XEL-1 OLED TV is now available in the US market at a suggested price of $2,500 (approx. Rs. 100,000).
