The Canon Cinema EOS camera range has recently been augmented with the Canon EOS-1D C DSLR shooter, which claims to render high definition video recording of up to 4096 x 2160p resolutions. The advanced recording capabilities of the device make it suitable for imaging applications such as motion pictures and television production amongst others.

This Canon EOS-1D C DSLR camera employs an 18.1MP full frame 24mm x 36mm CMOS sensor and shoots 4K videos at the rate of 24 frames per second or even videos of 1920 x 1080p resolutions in frame rates between 24p to 60p. These as well as 8-bit 4:2:2 4K and 8-bit 4:2:0 Full HD videos can be saved onto its CF memory card. Its sensor tags along features like image-blur effects, a sensitivity range of up to ISO 25600 and reduced noise for good quality pictures even in poorly lit conditions.

“The Canon EOS-1D C digital SLR camera was designed in response to the needs of filmmakers, television producers, and other high-level motion-imaging professionals. Not only does it combine 4K and Full HD video capture with a convenient design, its use of dual CF cards also offers an efficient workflow compatible with today’s post-production requirements,” commented Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A.
