The Canon EOS Rebel T4i camera will be entering the company’s DSLR array with enhanced image capturing features, by the end of June. One of the highlights is its autofocus attribute which comes into play not just while taking stills, but also when shooting videos.
The Canon snapper features an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor, clubbed with a DIGIC 5 image processor that should allow high speed, uninterrupted capturing at up to 5fps. Then there’s the extended ISO range of 100 – 12800 that stretches up to 25600 in H mode. It is customized with a ‘nine-point all cross-type’ sensor array and Hybrid CMOS AF that enhances the autofocus feature.

The Canon EOS Rebel T4i sports a vari-angle, 3-inch LCD touchscreen that offers ‘finger tip’ controls, a touch-menu and enhanced still as well as video abilities like touch focus and touch shutter. The Movie Servo AF cuts out on noise while being used alongside STM lenses. Features like Handled Night Scene, Video Snapshot, HDR Backlight Control, Scene Intelligent Auto and Multi-Shot Noise Reduction are added to the mix. The device is also compatible with the company’s GP-E2 GPS receiver.
The Canon EOS Rebel T4i price is scratched at $849.99 (approx. Rs. 46,990) for the body alone and $949.99 (approx. Rs. 52,520) when clubbed with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens kit. The Movie Kit bundle can be picked up at $1199 (approx. Rs. 66,280) with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. The EF 40mm f/2.8 STM lens and the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM can be purchased separately at approximate prices of $199.99 (approx. Rs. 11,055) and $549.99 (approx. Rs. 30,400), respectively.
