While most other cameras concentrate on their color reproduction skills, the Leica M Monochrom goes the retro way to click images only in black and white. The snapper takes the Leica M-system’s legacy forward and features a lens that captures no other color apart from black and white.
This device flaunts a matte-black finish coupled with a soft leather trim for a firm grip. The robust metal shooter is carved out of magnesium alloy, while the top deck and bottom plate are built from brass for added protection. The 18MP Leica M Monochrom is devoid of a color sensitive lens and boasts of a raw data histogram display as well as a configurable clipping display to provide photographers with control over tonal values and exposure. It allows users to add characteristic tonal effects to pictures in the camera itself.

Moreover, the company offers software like Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro 2 in addition to a service from Whitewall to buyers who register on the official website. Some other features included in the imager are manual focusing, aperture priority exposure mode and a silent shutter. The display on the back of the camera projects a horde of functions it is said to be capable of carrying out.
The Leica M Monochrom release date and price are yet to be declared. It is slated to be made available through authorized dealers towards the end of July.
