Freshly released, the Sony Alpha NEX-7 camera is designed with in magnesium alloy for strength and is a compact interchangeable lens device. It combines the sensor and processor technology for delivering seemingly high image clarity and HD video quality.

The company claims that their latest camera possesses ultra fast shooting responses and a high sensitivity range which ranges from ISO 100 to16000. This supposedly aids in capturing clean, low-noise images even at dimly lit places. It incorporates a new Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor with 24.3MP resolution.

This is reportedly one of the first interchangeable lens camera with an integrated XGA OLED TruFinder viewfinder for precise framing and focusing. The viewfinder offers bright and detailed images and video with almost 100 percent frame coverage and a wide field of view. For aiding users with exact framing, on-screen grid lines, various shooting parameters and a level gauge are displayed. This viewfinder is accompanied by a 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD display which can be angled up to 90-degrees or 45-degrees down for convenient viewing in any shooting position.

Kelly Davis, vice president of digital imaging at Sony Electronics said, “For Sony, the new NEX-7 represents innovation in its purest form. Speed and style meet performance and control, creating a shooting experience unlike anything in market today.”

With a shutter release lag of about 20 milliseconds, the NEX-7 camera is also capable of capturing fast-moving action at up to 10fps. It features the TRINAVI control interface which is said to be beneficial for enthusiasts and professional photographers. The device is embedded with two control dials on the top that are complemented by a control wheel. This gives users three customizable, manual controls and the flexibility to create images with the detailing of an advanced DSLR camera.

The camera provides support for the new AVCHD Progressive format, thus allowing users to capture full HD video at 60p (progressive) frame rates. Via the Tracking Focus feature users can choose a target object on screen and focus on it even if it is moving. This new camera includes other functions like 3D Sweep Panorama mode, Soft Skin, Auto HDR, Handheld Twilight and Anti Motion Blur Modes.
