The new Nikon 1 digital imaging system was recently announced by the company along with their J1 and V1 cameras. The latest system claims to take photography and imaging to the next level by delivering incredible quality, speed and convenience.

Both, the Nikon J1 and V1 cameras incorporate this new imaging system which is said to be a breakthrough platform built with precise engineering. The Nikon J1 comes with interchangeable lenses which capture pictures and videos in HD. The portable device integrates the fast new hybrid Autofocus (AF) and the Smart Photo Selector that automatically takes the best possible picture.

Users only have to click the shutter button to instantly capture high quality photographs as well as record Full HD 1080p movies at the same time. It equips the Motion Snapshot mode, aiding users in shooting fleeting moments with a combination of moving and still images. Possessing the new 1 NIKKOR lens system and the CX-format, 10.1MP AF CMOS sensor, the camera smoothly integrates powerful precision optics into a camera platform.

“The needs of the consumer are changing and the world is becoming one of visual conversation, which paves the way for the next chapter in image capture devices. The new Nikon 1 system is the culmination of more than 75 years of optical excellence and relentless pursuit to the unrivaled technological advancements in camera technology. Nikon’s new 1 J1 camera allows consumers to have confidence in a new way to express themselves, with amazing speed, versatility, ease of use and portability,” commented Bo Kajiwara, Director of Marketing, Nikon Inc.

The compact Nikon 1 V1 also features interchangeable lens versatility and comes with an electronic viewfinder (EVF) having a 1.4 million dot high resolution. It automatically activates when users raise the camera to their eye. Crafted with magnesium alloy, the new device includes a high-speed electronic as well as a mechanical shutter that provide tactile feedback and more shooting options. This camera integrates the company’s multi-accessory port for attaching options like the SB-N5 compact speedlight or the GP-N100 GPS module along with a stereo microphone input.

Nikon claims that their 1 imaging system is quite a revolutionary one in the field of photography and videos. The system lenses include a Silent Stepping Motor (STM) for quieter AF and zoom while shooting movies. It integrates the company’s VR II image stabilization technology that decreases instances of camera shake and blurring.
