JVC has announced the inclusion of a new high definition camera to its 2010 Everio lineup. The newest GZ-HM340 features 16GB internal memory and supports SD/SDHC card slot.

The GZ-HM340 packs in all the functionalities offered by the 2010 Everio range such as advancements in low light capabilities and image stabilization alongside a new auto recording function and time lapse recording. The new Auto record function automatically initiates recording while other moving subjects enter the picture. Time-Lapse recording ensures time-lapse shooting in one- to 80-second intervals which reduces hours-long segments to seconds.

JVC has also introduced the Advanced Image Stabilizer (A.I.S) for steady images. The Advanced Image Stabilizer utilizes a wide-angle image sampling area which is about four times larger than conventional systems. On the other hand, A.I.S adds to the convenience. The Everio camera allows users to share digital files in various formats with the enhanced Everio MediaBrowser software for Windows. Users can directly export files to iTunes and sync with synced with an iPod or iPhone or burned to DVD with a few clicks using the Everio MediaBrowser application.

The GZ-HM340 packs in the smallest and slimmest Konica Minolta HD Lens and a 20x optical zoom. Everio high-definition models are capable of automatically switching between two internal media for continuous, uninterrupted recordings.

Everio’s HD-model enhancements feature Face Flow Thumbnail for displaying thumbnails from a specific section of a video. It automatically selects and zooms into human faces. The camera is easy to carry and hold with a slim design and redesigned grip belt. The Everio GZ-HM340 is expected to be available later this month at a price of $499.95 (approx Rs. 22,995).
