Pentax K-x DSLR officially introduced

Just last month we witnessed the launch of the Pentax Optio WS80 waterproof camera. And now the company is back with an entry-level digital SLR camera. This newly launched DSLR camera is called the Pentax K-x. Challenging the performance of the higher class DSLR models, this camera is said to be a perfect choice for beginners. What more? Pentax has also broken the color norm with this camera. The camera will be made available in red, white and black colors.

The K-x DSLR camera boasts of a high resolution 12.4 megapixel CMOS image sensor. This sensor claims to deliver blur-free images with its sensor-shift Shake Reduction technology. The 2.7-inch LCD flaunts features like Live View and Face Detection autofocus. The camera is also capable of shooting videos with a resolution of 720p and a rate of 24fps. The K-x camera incorporates True High Dynamic Range (HDR) image capture feature that combines three images into one to provide exceptional shadow, highlight, and midrange detail.

Creative processing and filter modes of this camera claim to deliver exceptional quality images. The other features of this camera include 1/6000 second maximum shutter speed, Auto Picture mode, scene mode and 11 point wide angle SAFOX VIII autofocus system. The camera is powered by rechargeable AA lithium batteries that promise to capture around 1900 shots with a single charge.

The K-x camera will also pack in a DA L18-55mm lens. The Pentax K-x is now available for pre-order in black and white color options on the company’s official website and is expected to start shipping in all three colors, next month. The K-x with a single lens kit will cost $649.95 (approx. Rs. 31,200). The K-x twin lens kit with DA L 50-200mm zoom lens is priced at $749.95 (approx. Rs. 36,000) while the K-x twin lens kit with DA L 50-300mm zoom lens is priced at $849.95 (approx. Rs. 40,800).
