Affordable D-SLR camera D3000 introduced by Nikon

Photography enthusiasts can now gear up for a new treat. Nikon announced the launch of the D3000 digital SLR camera claimed to be ideal for users looking at experiencing the superiority of digital SLR photography.

The D3000 boasts of 10.2 mega pixels which provide users with crystal clear image clarity. It includes the all-new Guide Mode with a user friendly interface to assist new photographers in using a D-SLR. It provides the user with step-by-step instructions. This mode displays various shooting situations via the LCD screen, indicating the most appropriate settings for a particular scenario.

This camera additionally has an elegant look to it. With rounded corners and a comfortable grip which makes it an ideal shooting gadget, the D3000 appears more compact compared to other professional SLR cameras. It has a bright three-inch 230,000 dot LCD screen and a font size that is 20% larger than its predecessors. It has an 11-point Multi-Cam 1000 auto focus system which makes it easy to find and focus on a subject. This gadget also offers split-second shutter response, and allows users to capture up to three frames per second. The 3D Subject Tracking feature focuses constantly on a fast moving subject in the frame.

This camera also incorporates an in-camera Retouch Menu where users can add various effects to their images. It also has an introductory new Miniature effect, which modifies the appearance of distant subjects to look like close-ups of miniature models. Users can add an artistic touch to their photos with the Soft Filter and Color Outline Retouch option. The D3000 has the ability to capture images in the NEF (RAW) format. This proves useful for creative users. Images captured in this format have greater image data which can afford finer image control and higher uncompressed lossless image quality. With Capture NX2 which is an image editing software users can fine-tune the appearance of their image. This camera also has a Stop-Motion-Movie Mode where users can choose a couple of images within the camera and then compile them into a fun and creative video.

The Nikon D3000 provides images with highly intricate details and vibrant colors due to its 10.2 mega pixel CCD image sensor coupled with its Expeed image processing system. ISO range extends from 100 to 1600 allowing for low light versatility. It also incorporates Active D-Lighting system which compensates to reveal veiled details in shadows and highlights in high-contrast situations. It helps improve fine details in a persons face. This camera also incorporates Nikon’s Integrated Dust Reduction System, which combats the accumulation of image-degrading dust from the image sensor. It also has an Airflow Control System when switched off which limits the ability of dust particles to reach the sensor.

The camera can work in collaboration with a variety of Nikon accessories. Nikkor AF-S interchangeable lenses can also be attached to this camera. In spite of having a built-in flash, the camera also supports Nikon’s Creative Lighting System and is capable of Advanced Wireless Lighting with the SB-900 Speedlight or the SU-800 Wireless Commander. This camera supports Eye-Fi memory card functionality. Users can transfer images from the device to the computer.

The Nikon D3000 including the AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6GVR image stability lens will be available at Nikon authorized dealers from late August 2009 at an estimated price of $599.95 (approx. Rs.28,899).
