Pentax has announced the launch of its two latest digital cameras in the Optio series, known as the Optio Z10 and the Optio S10. The USP of the Optio Z10 is the high-magnification 7x optical zoom lens and that of the Optio S10 is its 10 megapixels.

Featuring refraction lens system, Optio Z10 will not protrude from the camera during zooming. With the 7x zoom, the camera covers a broad range, from wide-angle to telephoto zoom, and offers approx 35.7X magnification when combined with digital zoom.

Pentax Optio Z10 sports 8.0 megapixels, high speed detection time Face Recognition for improved portraits and digital Shake Reduction that allows ISO to 3200 that allows users to click sharper pictures even in low light settings.

The small and stylish Optio S10 features 10.0 megapixels, Shake Reduction and a high-speed Face Recognition AF&AE function for fast, high-quality portraits. The seventh DivX Certified digital camera from Pentax, the S10 helps the consumer to make high-quality video files, which can be played on various DivX DVD players and other devices.

Pentax Optio Z10 and Optio S10 costs $249.95 each and will be available in September this year.
