Dell XPS 8500 and Vostro 470 desktops employ Ivy Bridge

The Inspiron R edition laptops were not the only computers to be upgraded by Dell, considering that the company has also released the third generation Intel processor based Dell XPS 8500 and Vostro 470 desktops. The manufacturer has offered a piece of Ivy Bridge to gamers as well, through its Alienware laptop lineup.

The XPS 8500 can be utilized by professionals belonging to the fields of graphics designing, music, multimedia or more as it utilizes the quad core Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and up to 16GB DDR3 memory. The visual performance should be augmented with the Nvidia GeForce GT 620 or the AMD Radeon HD 7770 GPUs. Besides the common features like the Windows 7 OS, Bluetooth, a USB interface, a media card reader and more, the desktop comes with support for HDDs and SSDs for up to 3TB storage. It can be purchased in either black or white shade.

“Creatives and businesses can now choose Dell desktops available with Intel’s 3rd generation quad-core processors, delivering the performance they crave to pursue their professional passions,” stated Sam Burd, vice president and general manager of product development for Dell.

Dell Vostro 470

The Vostro 470 mini-tower system is an affordable option that can cater to the needs of businesses. Besides the third generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, it extends support to AMD Radeon or Nvidia GeForce graphics and is also deployed with the Intel Smart Response technology. Users can customize the Windows PC with up to 8GB DDR3 RAM and storage drives for up to 2TB capacity.

The Dell XPS 8500 and Vostro 470 price and availability details have been spelled out already. The XPS variant is up for grabs for a starting price of $749 (approx. Rs. 40,050), while the Vostro starts at $549 (Approx. Rs. 29,360). They are up for sale through select retailers and Dell.com.
