Mercury mTab tablet debuts in India, priced under 10K

Mercury mTab tablet makes its way into markets in India. Following the most recent launch of the Reliance 3G Tab priced at Rs. 13,000, this all new tablet takes affordability even further with a price tag of sub 10k.

The key feature of the Mercury mTab being brought forth by the company, apart from its pricing, is its 1.2GHz 3-core processor. This supports all the primary functions of the tab like games, music, videos, e-book reading, etc. and offers speedy web browsing, all of this displayed on a 7-inch WVGA TFT LCD touchscreen.

Not quite a match for its 3-core processor, the device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread version. Incorporated with 512MB RAM, it comes with 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 16GB, while the external memory is expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card.

The device measures 19.3cm X 11.7cm X 1.4cm and comes with a G sensor screen rotation. For the purpose of video calls and chats, a 1.3MP camera adorns the front side of the 400g tab. In terms of connectivity, the gadget is Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g) and 3G enabled. Although for 3G support, an external USB dongle is required.

The Mercury mTab tablet is now available ex-stock, with a warranty of one year. The tab is affordably priced at Rs. 9, 499.
