Bose SounDock Portable Speaker System for iPods Launched

Bose SounDock Portable Speaker System Bose has unveiled its new portable speaker system, called the SoundDock Portable especially for iPods. This latest digital music system adds Bose’s existing iPod-friendly line-up containing the SoundDock system.

The SoundDock Portable comes with the company’s waveguide speaker technology and neodymium transducers. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers a battery life of three hours at full volume.

User can charge the system through a wall socket. The product will also charge an iPod either when operating on battery power or when plugged in to a wall.

According to John Roselli, director, Bose home entertainment division, “Bose engineers had a clear goal: to develop a battery-powered speaker system that would match the audio quality of the original SoundDock system without increasing its size. We’ve done that. The new SoundDock Portable digital music system reflects our commitment to research and our passion for offering people new ways to enjoy music.”

Bose also offers a new infrared remote to operate the iPod and system from across the room. In addition, it also provides a playlist control while touch-sensitive volume buttons are located on the unit itself.

The SoundDock Portable is compatible with iPod Nanos, minis and video iPod along with other MP3 players via line-in.

The Bose SoundDock Portable speaker system, available in hi-gloss white or black, is expected to be out for sale from this month for £279 (approx. Rs. 22,600).
