Visioneer Strobe 500 scanner

Visioneer has announced its Strobe 500 mobile duplex color scanner. This scanner comes embedded with a docking station that converts this desktop scanner into a mobile scanner. The Strobe 500 boasts of a 20-page automatic document feeder and high scanning speeds.

The scanner can be powered by a USB or wall-power and can also operate like a sheetfed scanner. The front feed slot accepts various documents like letters, legal documents, A4 size documents, photos, receipts and plastic ID cards. The scanner boasts of its scanning speed of 15 ppm/30 ipm. The Strobe 500 offers support for Windows 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X 10.4 and above, as well as Snow Leopard operating systems.

Powered by Visioneer OneTouch technology, this scanner allows users to store the scanned document at a specific location by pressing a single button. The scanned documents can be saved at any one of the 6 preset yet user configurable destinations. The Strobe 500 also bundles up various software including Nuance PaperPort, OmniPage Pro, NewSoft Presto! BizCard and more.

The Visioneer Strobe 500 scanner is now available for pre-order on the company’s official website. The scanners will be available for purchase from November 20 onwards via online channel partners and major resellers. The scanner will retail for $399.99 (approx. Rs. 18,805). The Strobe can also be purchased without the docking station for a price of $349.99 (approx. Rs. 16,458).
