T-Mobile, Nokia announce event on Dec 14, Lumia release on the cards?

T-Mobile Nokia Event 01

It looks like T-Mobile is the first carrier in the U.S. which has lured Nokia to collaborate for the launch of its Windows Phone devices. The network provider and the Finnish manufacturer have sent out invitations for an event slated to be held on December 14.

As Engadget agrees, the invitation’s design is evidence enough to believe Windows Phone offerings are in the offing. Though the unlocked version of the Nokia Lumia 800 has already set its foot in the U.S. through Expansys, the device is yet to go up on sale via any carrier in the nation. Also, the other puppy from the Lumia category, the 710 phone has not toddled into the country either. This has given rise to enough speculations which point towards the unveiling of either of these devices.

But there are possibilities that Nokia has completely different plans, those of unveiling another Windows Phone smartphone, or for that matter, a Lumia device. Not long ago, we came across unconfirmed stories about a certain Nokia Lumia 900 that will enter the U.S. next year. This phone draws inspiration from the Lumia 800, but is expected be an improved version of the latter. And the rumored device is also believed to enter with the latest platform of Microsoft’s OS, Tango.

It is difficult to draw conclusions at this point of time, considering both the hosts have decided not to reveal anything related to the event. But as the invite says, ‘something exciting is in the works,’ let’s wait and watch what T-Mobile and Nokia come up with, this time around.
