Optima OP5-E Maemo MID with 4.3-inch touchscreen

Optima OP5-E MID Optima has rolled out a new MID (Mobile Internet Device) dubbed OP5-E, reports Slashgear. The OP5-E is a 4.3-inch touchscreen MID that is powered by the Maemo operating system. The MID will also incorporate support for 3G and GPS.

The Maemo based OP5-E will bundle up a 3.2-megapixel camera and voice call functionality. The 5.6” x 2.9” x 0.69” OP5-E incorporates an 806MHz Marvell PXA320 PCU along with 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM. The device will initially incorporate support for VoIP calls but will also incorporate full calling and SMS functionality later.

Apparently, it comes integrated with speakers and microphone slot that will enable the MID to be used as a phone, while the Bluetooth 2.0 support allows the use of the Bluetooth headset. The connectivity features include Wi-Fi b/g, 3G, WWAN and GPS. Along with a 2,600mAh battery that provides a runtime of approximately 8 hours, the MID weighs only 10.6oz. The device also houses microSD slot that supports up to 16GB cards.
