Sony PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle now up for pre-order

For gaming enthusiasts who just can’t wait to secure the yet to be released Vita, the Sony PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle will be here by February 15. As hinted at by the name, the company is now offering fans a chance to grab the First Edition Bundle an entire week before the console’s official release.

The PS Vita is originally scheduled to release on February 22, 2011. However, consumers who pre-order this device now will have it shipping for them on February 15 if they’re lucky enough to hit certain select retail locations. The package will include the PS Vita system, a 4GB memory card, a limited edition case and the Little Deviants game.

This gaming device features a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display. This is supported by front and rear touch pads and dual analog sticks. It offers 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity options, along with social networking to let users compete with other gamers from all over the world and friends as well.

The portable gaming solution was first officially announced in June this year. Since then, it is expected to make its world debut in Japan in December, which will be followed with a roll out in Europe and the U.S. On the interior, the Vita is equipped with an ARM Cortex A9 4-core processor, stereo speakers, and microphone. Also, it sports two cameras on its chassis, the primary one recording at a speed of 120fps, while the front-facing one does it at 60fps.

The U.S. version of the PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle containing the 3G cum Wi-Fi model is priced at $349.99. The Wi-Fi only variant for Canada carries a price label of $299.99. It is up for pre-order for a limited time through select retailers.
