Nokia Lumia 800 makes its debut

The Nokia World 2011 saw the launch of many a phone, one of which was the Nokia Lumia 800. The smooth and stylish smartphone runs on the Windows Phone operating system and was released along with its counterpart, the Lumia 710.

This Nokia device packs in a 1.4GHz processor along with a graphics co-processor. Measuring 116.5mm x 61.2mm x 12.1mm, it offers talk time and standby time of up to 13 hours and 335 hours, respectively. Crafted from polycarbonate, the smartphone sports a 3.7-inch bright AMOLED ClearBlack display with toughened glass. It comes dressed in three vivid shades namely, black, cyan and magenta.

The newly unveiled handset possesses an 8MP auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics that lets users capture HD videos at 30 frames per second. It lends support to various connectivity options including quad band reception, HSDPA 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This device features 16GB internal memory with cloud computing integration that offers 25GB of free SkyDrive storage for hoarding multimedia content.

The Lumia 800 comes preloaded with apps like Nokia Drive that provides free turn-by-turn navigation and a dedicated in-car interface. The Nokia Music functionality features MixRadio, a free, global mobile music-streaming service with a number of locally-relevant channels. Additionally, it is incorporated with the Internet Explorer 9 web browser as well as support for HTML5 applications.

The Nokia Lumia 800 will be available from next month in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK, across 31 operators at a price of €420 (approx. Rs. 28,990). It is scheduled to hit the markets of Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan before the end of this year.
