Namco offers Dilbert Cubicle Chaos to Mobile Phones

Dilbert Cubicle Chaos Namco has released its latest mobile game, dubbed Dilbert Cubicle Chaos with rich features that includes downloadable Dilbert comic strips and bonus game levels.

Gamers play the character of the pointy-haired boss and the role is to be in charge of Dilbert’s dysfunctional office environment. The boss is seen flaunting to (mis)manage resources and creating the illusion of productivity by delegating a lot of work to his employees. Moreover, the game also has other favorite Dilbert characters such as Dogbert, the business consultant and mastermind behind the dysfunction as well as Dilbert, Wally, Alice, Asok, Ted and Tina.

You have to battle against the clock to divide a specified number of projects as they are completed to keep the staff self-effacing. The game features motivating management tools, including ‘friendly’ shocks from a cattle prod to ‘inspire’ and ‘motivate’ employees.

“Everyone in the corporate world can relate to some part of the Dilbert comic strip, making the storyline, characters and office satire ideal for a mobile game targeting mass-market consumers. Adding elements to the game that are specific to the mobile platform, such as downloadable comics made possible by network connectivity, only increase the longevity of the game and allow players, Dilbert fans and general consumers alike, to have the best possible mobile gaming experience,” explained Scott Rubin, vice president of sales and marketing, Namco Networks.

From the story mode itself, gamers are expected to control the boss and try to win the Manager of the Month award by working their way in the office, offer projects to employees and complete the daily quota. This will allow them to move on to the next level.

Six days later, an unlockable and exchangeable feature called Boss Zone is accessible along with bonus level, Whack-a-Wally. You can earn more points by hitting Wally as he pops up randomly among the cubicles.

Namco plans to host a sweepstakes through AT&T for fans to participate and win one of the 25 signed copies of the “Dilbert’s Guide to the Rest of Your Life” hardcover collection and a compilation of official Dilbert desk toys. AT&T customers can automatically enter by downloading the Dilbert Cubicle Chaos mobile game.
