Microsoft's SideWinder Gaming Mouse

Microsoft has announced a gaming mouse called SideWinder. The new peripheral is not just a normal gaming mouse but delivers unique features such as vertical side buttons and LCD display.

Microsoft claims that the SideWinder is a whole gaming system featuring 5,000 adjustable settings, which can be customized as per the requirements. Three dedicated buttons will allow gamers to switch rapidly between 400/800/2000 DPI.

Moreover, the mouse incorporates quick-launch button that take gamers directly to the Games Explorer in Windows Vista. Also, Microsoft offers five programmable buttons that can be configured easily with the help of the software that comes along with the SideWinder.

The SideWinder uses weight cartridge system and comes with four weights up to 30 grams. The system allows gamers to customize weight of the device.

“We’re taking gaming mice to a new level with a mouse created in direct response to gamer feedback from all over the world; it offers superior customization and performance handling,” said Bill Jukes, product marketing manager for Microsoft Hardware.

“We found that gamers are a lot like performance car enthusiasts. They like to tweak and tune their mouse to get it just right, and today we are giving them the tools to create a personalized experience that lets them focus on what’s important: being at the top of their game,” he continued.

Microsoft has designed the SideWinder mouse by perfectly considering the needs of gamers. It features scroll with detent clicking action for better response.

Microsoft plans to ship the SideWinder by October 2007 at the price of $80 (approx Rs. 3,270).
