Pandigital introduces Photo Mail digital photo frame

Pandigital Logo Digital photo frames seem to be on their way to ousting conventional photo frames. Pandigital has devised an even more convenient way of sharing photos with their Photo Mail digital photo frame. As its name suggests, the frame connects via AT&T’s wireless network and is capable of accepting photos e-mailed to it.

The frame displays an 8” LED-backlit screen that delivers resolutions of 800 x 600p and offers a 4:3 aspect ratio. The last mentioned serves to preserve the original format of images without stretching or cropping them. It’s 1GB onboard memory capacity combined with the company’s memory optimization mode accommodates approximately 6,400 photos.

Photo Mail is equipped to playback AVI video clips as well as MP3 formatted files too. Pictures can be transferred to the device by directly connecting it to a PC or through its 6-in-1 media card reader. The reader is compatible with CF, XD, SC, MS, MS Pro and MMC memory cards.

Pandigital’s Photo Mail digital photo frame will hit retailers next month at $149.99 (approx. Rs.6,932). The price includes the ability to receive 300 photos via e-mail. Additional photo allotments can be purchased at $9.99 (approx. Rs.461) for 100 pictures, $29.99 (approx. Rs.1,386) for 400 and $49.99 (approx. Rs.2,310) from Pandigital.
