Creative reveals second generation Vado HD camcorder with Mac OS X

Creative Vado HD Camcorder

We all remember Creative’s Vado HD camcorder that arrived in India this June. Since then, many pocket camcorders have been released, turning this segment of market into a competitive one. Owing to this increase in competition, Creative has now come up with a new version of the Vado HD. This second generation camcorder is also named the Creative Vado HD pocket camcorder.

The second generation Vado HD is powered by the new Vado Central for Mac OS X operating system. This operating system offers support for transferring videos. It also allows users to directly import Vado movies to the iMovie. The Vado Central is backward compatible with the Vado and the Vado HD models that were released earlier. The software will be available for download, starting this month at the company’s official support website.

The new Vado HD will be made available in two versions. The 4GB Vado HD will be released in glossy white color with green accents. This version of the Vado is capable of holding up to 60 minutes of video. The 8GB version will hit the market in glossy black color and red accents. The 8GB memory will hold up to 120 minutes of video.

The company does mention that both the versions of the camcorder are now available for pre-order. The Creative Vado HD pocket camcorder can be pre-ordered at the Amazon and the company’s official webpage. The 4GB model will retail for around $179.99 (approx. Rs. 8,800) while the 8GB model will cost $199.99 (approx. Rs. 9,778).
