With next generation smartphones taking over, a large number of people may resort to reading digital material, but the latest Berg Cloud Little Printer looks forward to making users read physical papers again. This tiny device adorns a smiley face and can be configured to search the web twice a day to find trending topics that people may like.

This little device is encased in a high-gloss molded plastic chassis and comes with a brushed steel faceplate that frames the printout besides holding papers. It is integrated with a compact thermal printer which works sans ink, thus eliminating the need to undergo hassles of changing cartridges. Also, this printer wirelessly connects to the web through the built-in Bridge unit that utilizes the user’s broadband router for web access. The device only requires a power outlet to run efficiently.

Allowing complete customization, this gadget browses through a number of sources termed ‘publications’ before printing out a wide range of material such as newspapers, tweets, social networking updates and more. Users can select their preferred publications and configure the device to deliver the desired material at a chosen time. It can print multiple times in a day and all a user needs to do is hit a button to obtain the gathered material on a sheet of paper.

As the aforementioned publications are created on the Berg Cloud on the web, users can expect additions and some other enhancements without having to replace their devices. This printer possessing wireless connection properties is easy to place considering its small size. The printer will be launched in collaboration with Google, foursquare, Arup, Nike and The Guardian. It is compatible with Android and Apple devices.

The beta version of the Berg Cloud Little Printer is expected to be available next year. There is no word on the pricing.
