The compact, little CloudFTP adapter which turns any USB storage device into a wireless file server through connection with Wi-Fi enabled devices was recently declared. The newest outing aims to solve the problem of the incompatibility between various USB mass storage devices and modern gadgets such as the iPhone, iPad and Cloud.

This Kickstarter project that was disclosed by Sanho automatically connects to the web for enabling the backup and synchronization of USB data with often used online Cloud storage services such as Dropbox, box.net and iCloud. Ubergizmo reveals that the device facilitates the creation of an ad hoc connection to a smartphone for letting users access or transfer content on any hard drive connected to it.

There exist various commonly used USB mass storage devices such as flash drives, card readers, digital cameras and USB hard drives, among others, which cannot be connected to the iOS devices or the Cloud. This creates a problem for transferring of files and hence, creates the inconvenience of first loading the content onto a PC and then onto these modern devices. With the pocket sized CloudFTP, this glitch is expected to be altogether eliminated.

This new adapter is integrated with a powered USB port that connects to any of the above mentioned USB storage devices and then develops its own wireless Wi-Fi network for sharing the connected USB data. Users simply have to attach this network from their Wi-Fi-enabled devices for accessing the USB storage device wirelessly via a dedicated iOS or Android app, FTP client or a HTML5 web app.

The CloudFTP adapter is set to retail for a price of $99.95 (approx. Rs. 5,120) and will be available soon.
