Just yesterday, Aircel announced pre-order details for the iPhone 4S and now, joining the bandwagon is Airtel as it discloses the price of the much awaited Apple delight. The latest smartphone is scheduled to make its Indian entry through the carrier next week on November 25 and is already available for pre-order on the company’s official website.
The next generation iPhone is currently available in most countries such as USA, UK, Australia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Greece, Portugal, Malta and Poland, among many others. Powered by the recently launched iOS 5 OS, it is embedded with a 3.5-inch 960 x 640p widescreen multi-touch Retina display.
The highlight of this smartphone is the unique Siri functionality that plays the role of a voice assistant by which users are enabled to fix meetings, make phone calls, send messages and execute many other such activities by talking directly to the handset. Siri also responds orally to users, just like a human would. The device features World Phone capabilities and offers support for various connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 3G and Edge.
The Apple handset is incorporated with an 8MP camera possessing a custom lens, larger aperture, advanced hybrid infrared filter and optics along with enhanced sensitivity and a face detection functionality. Besides the 8 megapixel camera that lets owners shoot videos in 1080p HD, the mobile device also boasts of a front facing VGA FaceTime camera. Additionally, the latest iPhone version comes equipped with a dual-core A5 chip processor that promises to deliver a faster web browsing and an improved gaming experience.
Airtel has revealed that the price of the 16GB iPhone 4S in black and white colors would be Rs. 44,500, while the 32GB version is priced at Rs. 50,900. Although the smartphone also comes in a 64GB version, its price is not known as of now.
