Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems Inc., has announced the availability of the Linksys Wireless-N USB Network Adapter (WUSB300N) in India. Linksys’ latest launch offers users a simple way to add wireless connectivity to their notebook or desktop computer.
The Wireless-N USB Network Adapter is based on the 802.11n draft specification. By overlaying the signals of multiple radios, the MIMO (multiple-in, multiple-out) technology creates a robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to four times farther than standard Wireless-G and reduce “dead spots”.
The Linksys WUSB300N works with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment. According to the Irvine, California-based, when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the throughput can be increased even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds up to 12 times as fast as standard Wireless-G.
Once the network is connected, users can keep in touch with their emails, access the Internet, and share files and other resources such as printers and network storage with other computers on the network. The wireless connections are protected by industrial-strength 256-bit encryption.
The company said the unbelievable speed of Wireless-N makes the WUSB300N perfect for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming and VoIP.
The Wireless-N USB Network Adapter (WUSB300N) is available right away through Linksys’ channel partner network in India for an ESP of Rs. 6,800.
