Videocon VT85C voice calling tablet comes to India with a price tag of Rs 8,999

The Videocon VT85C tablet has arrived in India and those interested in a voice calling slate that eliminates the need to carry a separate smartphone, should consider this budget-friendly device. It has appeared on the official website and carries a price tag that reads Rs 8,999.

One of its key highlights is the voice calling feature, but unlike quite a few similar slates, it has been embedded with a single SIM card slot. A multi-point capacitive display dominates the front panel and offers a multi-touch real estate of 7 inches. The VT85C is capable of delivering visuals in 1024 x 600p resolution. This screen sits snugly on the chassis which measures 192.1 x 121.1 x 10 millimeters.

The white-colored tablet packs in an intuitive interface, thanks to the presence of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. A VGA webcam has been fitted on it to facilitate video conferencing over the internet, while your photography needs will be taken care of by a 5MP rear camera. Although the slab’s onboard storage is limited to 4GB, you can expand it further by up to 32GB using a microSD card.

Performance-wise, it appears to be a decent choice considering that a 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor rests under the hood along with 1GB of RAM. The 3G-enabled device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and USB connectivity amongst other things and it draws power from a 3000mAh battery.

The Videocon VT85C voice calling tablet, as we said, will set you back by Rs 8,999 and should be made available through authorized dealers and shopping portals.
