Micromax Funbook P280 officially launched in India for Rs 4,650

The Micromax Funbook P280 is the latest tablet in this range to have hit India and budget-conscious users who have been looking forward to laying their hands on a low-cost tablet may consider this option. For a sub-Rs 5K price, you can expect all the common features as well as a leather-like case complete with a keyboard.

Coming to the specifications of the Micromax Funbook P280, it is a 7-inch device which a TFT WVGA touchscreen of 480 x 800p resolution. Under the display lies an intuitive user interface which can be attributed to the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS. The platform even brings a number of Google mobile services and offers access to the Play store.

A 1GHz single core Cortex A8 processor has been chosen to facilitate multitasking on the device and there’s 512MB of RAM to help you navigate smoothly through all the applications. The tablet lacks a rear-facing snapper, but you can count on it to get you a front-facing one featuring a 0.3MP lens for video conferencing over Wi-Fi. For 3G connectivity, you can attach an external USB dongle.

Although the Micromax Funbook P280’s internal memory is limited to 4GB, you do get the option of increasing it further by up to 32GB using a microSD card. All the common ports have been carved into the chassis and apps like Spuul, Opera Mini, Kingsoft Office and more have been installed on the slate. A 2400mAh battery has been integrated in it as well.
