Acer Iconia A1-713 with voice calling launched in India for Rs 12999

The Acer Iconia A1-713 has made its way into India as a 7-inch tablet and it tags along 3G cellular support with voice calling at an affordable price. The slate is listed at Rs 12999 which puts it in the same range as the iBall Slide 3G 7345Q-800 and the MediaPad 7 Youth2 from Huawei amongst others.

The device will also have to go up against the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 from Samsung and the Asus Fonepad 7 Dual SIM. The Acer Iconia A1-713 made its global debut back in April along with its HD version and the Iconia One 7. Sadly, neither of the two tablets has been launched in India as yet.

The slate in question doesn’t have dual SIM support and one of its major drawbacks is that it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Nevertheless, an update to KitKat has been promised and we’re still to hear details about its roll out. The device features a clean metallic design and it’s pretty lightweight at 305 grams.

Its 7-inch display has 1024 x 600 pixel resolution which is pretty decent and there’s the usual 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor on the inside based on the Cortex A7. Coming to memory, the slate packs 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot.
