The all new Wishtel Ira and Ira Thing claim to be the world’s first tablets accommodating Indic languages for the audience in India. These devices are the result of a partnership between VIA Technologies and Wishtel.

The main highlight is apparently the inclusion of the Hindi language in their interface. This widely-used Indian dialect is said to have been readily included in all the functions of the slabs. In terms of the main specifications, the offerings are powered by the Android 2.2 OS.

The front panels of the devices are dominated by 7-inch high resolution capacitive touchscreens, while also accommodating internet facilities. As mentioned on Ubergizmo, the slates are duly powered by the WonderMedia Prizm WM8650 Arm SoC. Alternately, the Linux OS compatibility offers support to native languages in India.

These Ira members also feature an in-built snapper and 3G WCDMA EDVO USB dongle support. The embedded camera is expected to permit 720p video recording capability. All the operations are powered by a 2800mAH.7V built-in Li-poly battery offering about 4 hours of battery life.

Dipped in hues of black and white, the devices come across as budget-friendly players due to their rather low price tags.

The Wishtel Ira and Ira Thing price details read as Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 5,500, in that order. They are now available across retails outlets in India.
