Datawind UbiSlate 7Ri, 7R+, 7Ci, and 7C+ tablets launched in India

The Datawind UbiSlate 7Ri, 7R+, 7Ci, and 7C+ tablets have just dropped into India with the Ice Cream Sandwich platform onboard. The highlights of these slabs are their eye-catching price points that range between Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 5,000.

Each of the tablets sports a 7-inch touch panel proffering visuals in a resolution of 800 × 480p and houses a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor under the hood. Leaning on 512MB RAM, they tag along 4GB of internal memory that can be stretched up to 32GB by slipping in a microSD card. For video conferencing over the web, the manufacturer has thrown in a front-facing VGA snapper on each of the gadgets.

These tablets are of the gold standard when it comes to low – cost tablet cum Smart phone space being offered at an exciting price to our customers,” remarked, Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO, Datawind.

In terms of connectivity, the slates entail a miniUSB slot and extend support to Wi-Fi, while just the 7R+ and 7C+ arrive with GPRS too. The battery incorporated within each of the devices is expected to function for about 180 minutes on a single charge. To satisfy audiophiles on the move, the slabs are embedded with a 3.5mm audio jack.
