Apple iPad HD to be unveiled at the March 7 event?

Apple iPad HD

While the whole world is anticipating the release of the iPad 3 on March 7, Apple seems to have some other plans as the grapevine is abuzz with rumors hinting towards the launch of an iPad HD instead. Additionally, speculations are rife that the fruity giant is acquiring components for a 7.1-inch display, which may be for the iPad Mini.

VentureBeat has learned from a reliable source that the company has decided to release the high definition version of its slate as opposed to the third generation variant. We came across reports in the past which suggested that the next edition of the slab will boast of very high resolution screen, which may be 2048 x 1536p. Apparently, this is how the device gets its name. The current generation iPad renders visuals in 1024 x 768p resolutions. Reportedly, the HD version will not be shipped along with the quad core A6 CPU, but will instead employ the enhanced dual core A5 chipset or the A5X.

Another speculation suggests that the manufacturer is all set to construct a 7.85-inch variant of the iPad, against the wishes of the former CEO Steve Jobs. VentureBeat has found out from a source that Apple is acquiring components for a comparatively smaller screen. This may be the company’s way to once again lay its claim on the market share that the Kindle Fire seems to have taken over from it. Although we have stumbled upon these suppositions, there is no concrete evidence to back them.

As the March 7 event is just around the corner, it is not surprising to chance upon such conjectures. We will just have to wait for the program to unfold in order to find out whether Apple is planning to release the iPad 3 or the iPad HD.
