Asus Transformer Pad lineup shows up at the MWC, runs Android 4.0

Accompanying the multitasking smartphone dubbed PadFone that can serve the purpose of a tablet as well as a notebook to the MWC, is the Asus Transformer Pad lineup of slates. The portfolio comprises of the Transformer Pad Prime, Transformer Pad Infinity series and the Transformer Pad 300 series, all offering a generous scoop of Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Infinity series claims to be apt for high definition mobile entertainment and dons a multi-touch screen deployed with Super IPS+ display and Asus SonicMaster technology. It can reproduce images in 1920 x 1200p resolutions. The 4G LTE based variant is embedded with the dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM 8960 Snapdragon S4 Krait processor, whereas the Wi-Fi only version of this tablet employs the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU.

The devices belonging to the Infinity series can clock in upload and download speeds of about 50Mbps and 100Mbps, respectively. Also included are a 2MP front facing snapper and an 8MP primary camera with attributes like LED flash, HD video recording, F2.2 aperture and 5-element lens.

The Pad 300 series fueled by the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor seems apt for hardcore gamers. The 1280 x 800p IPS display of the slab offers a multi-touch real estate spanning 10.1 inches. The 4G LTE as well as the Wi-Fi versions of this slate boast of an 8MP camera and a 1.2MP front facing webcam. It is said to cough up the juice for about 10 hours and close to 15 hours when used in conjunction with the optional keyboard dock.
